Charlotte Transportation Center (CTC)
The Charlotte Transportation Center is the main connecting hub for CATS bus and rail routes. The center is available for customer use during normal service operating hours typically from 4:50 a.m. – 1:30 a.m. each day. Shops and restaurants in the center are usually open from 7:00 am – 8:00 p.m. each weekday but businesses may have different hours. Check with the business for detailed hours they are opened.
CATS Customer Service Hours at the transit center are:
Passes and information (middle of center)
Weekdays 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Saturday 7:00 a.m. - 12: 00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sunday 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m . and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Transit ID and Lost and Found are open:
Weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (see below for more detailed information)
Customers can get a quick bite to eat from a variety of restaurants and vendors along with purchasing a pass or getting transit information. Businesses located in the transit center include:

Pass Outlets
Ride anytime, anywhere, for an unlimited number of times with a monthly or weekly pass. Monthly passes are sold for express and local routes, while weekly passes are available only for local routes. See Passes and Fares for costs and other Pass Outlets for purchasing locations.
Transit IDs
A Transit ID enables people 62 years and up, those with disabilities, students and children to ride at reduced rates. The IDs are made at the CTC in Pavilion A from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. See Passes and Fares for further information. Customers with valid Transit IDs need to show it to bus operators when boarding. Riders with Medicare cards only need to show their card to ride at a reduced rate.
Lost and Found
By using this property or service, you agree that any items found or delivered to CATS that are not lawfully claimed within 30 days will become property of the City of Charlotte and may be disposed of by law. To claim a lost item visit the CATS Customer Service office located in pavilion A at the Charlotte Transportation Center from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday or give us a call at 704-336-RIDE (7433).
Transfers
Transfers to local buses are free, but higher when transferring to an Express Route or a higher fare service. You must ask for one when you pay your fare. Transfers must be used within 1 hour and 45 minutes or on the next connecting bus. With the exception of neighborhood shuttles or Routes 29, 30 and 31 on weekdays, every bus travels through the CTC and can be boarded there. Transfers are not given to those boarding uptown, except to those on Routes 29, 30 and 31. To see the transfer costs for a specific service go to Passes and Fares.
