VACANCIES ON CITY COUNCIL BOARDS & COMMISSIONS 

 

REVISIONS ARE IN RED

 

On Monday, January 12, 2015, City Council will make nominations to fill vacant positions on the following boards and committees:

 

A.    CHARLOTTE HOUSING AUTHORITY

One appointment for an unexpired term beginning immediately and ending December 17, 2016.

Arthur Griffin Jr. has resigned.

Time commitment: 3 hours/month. Meets 3rd Tuesday at 5:00 pm at 400 East Boulevard.

 

B.   COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMITTEE

Two appointments for unexpired terms beginning immediately and ending June 30, 2016.

Kathleen Odom and Sandra Donaghy have resigned.

Time commitment: 1-2 hours/month. Meets 3rd Tuesday monthly at 4:00 pm at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1000 E. Morehead

Street.

 

C.   PRIVATIZATION/COMPETITION ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Five appointments for two-year terms beginning March 2, 2015 and ending March 1, 2017.

Antonio Briceno, Jaye Alexander, Morris McAdoo and Robert Diamond are eligible and interested in being considered for 

reappointment.
Christopher Brown has completed two full terms of service and is not eligible for reappointment.

Time commitment: 4-5 hours/month. Meets 2nd Thursday monthly at 7:30 am at the Government Center Building, 600 East 4th Street. 

 

D.   TRANSIT SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Two appointments, one for a suburban employer served by the Charlotte Transit and the other for a neighborhood organizational 

leader, for three-year terms beginning February 1, 2015 and ending January 31, 2018.

Eric Sanderson has completed two full terms of service and is not eligible for reappointment.

Michael Warner is eligible and interested in being considered for reappointment.

Time commitment: 2 hours/bi-monthly. Meets 2nd Thursday monthly at 4:00 pm at the Government Center Building, 600 East 4th Street. 

 

E.   ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT

Three appointments, one for an at-large member and two for alternate members, for three year terms beginning January 31, 

2015 and ending January 30, 2018.

One appointment for an at-large member to fill an unexpired term beginning immediately and ending January 30, 2017.

C. Jennifer Coble has completed two full terms of service and is not eligible for reappointment.

Tyler Conner  and John Powell are eligible and interested in being considered for reappointment.

David Hoffman has resigned.

Time commitment: 9 hours/month. Meets last Tuesday monthly/2nd Tuesday in December at 9:00 am at the Government Center 

Building, 600 East 4th Street.

Appointees serve on a voluntary basis without compensation.
