Metro Division Officers Arrest Breaking and Entering Suspects

            Tinsley

Metro Division officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have arrested three suspects for their involvement in a breaking and entering of a residence.

On Sunday, April 21, 2013, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Metro Division patrol officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Russell Avenue.  A witness had called 911 to report a breaking and entering in progress.  The witness observed two suspects casing a nearby residence.  These two suspects then ran into the back yard of the residence and were joined by a third suspect.  The witness was able to provide an excellent description of all three suspects.

When patrol officers arrived on scene they observed two of the suspects exiting the house through a side door.  Both suspects were placed into custody.  The third suspect was then located a short distance away from the residence.  All items stolen from the victim’s home were recovered from the suspects and returned to the victim.

After being interviewed by Metro Division Burglary Detectives, all three suspects admitted to participating in the crime.  Detectives charged Michael Tinsley, DOB: 01/22/1995, along with two fifteen year old male juveniles with felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and conspiracy to commit breaking and entering.

This case illustrates the importance of the community and police working together.  Had it not been for an alert witness, willing to call 911, chances are these suspects would still be free to prey on other members of our community.  The CMPD continues to urge the community to call 911 if they ever see or hear anything suspicious.
