Crime Statistical Summary for the 1st quarter of 2015: 

CMPD ended March, 2015, with a 6.4% increase in Index Offenses compared to last year. Property crime
increased by 4.1% while violent crime increased by 20.9%.

  • 18 homicides were reported compared to 10, resulting in an increase of 80%.
     
  • 351 robberies were reported compared to 363, resulting in a decrease of -3.3%.
     
  • 71 rapes were reported compared to 53, resulting in an increase of 34%.
     
  • 803 aggravated assaults were reported compared to 602, resulting in an increase of 33.4%.
     
  •  Burglary overall was up 3.3%, (1338 compared to 1295) with an increase of 12.2% in residential
    (1095 compared to 976) and a decrease of -23.8% in commercial cases (243 compared to 319).
     
  • 451 vehicle thefts were reported compared to 374, resulting in an increase of 20.6%.
     
  •  Total larceny cases increased by 2.6% (4960 compared to 4832) with the larcenies from auto up
    by 4.2% (1678 compared to 1611).
     
  • 52 arson cases were reported compared to 34, resulting in an increase of 52.9%.
