Recognizes officers and work teams from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department who have made outstanding contributions to the improvement of police-community relations in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. To date, the CRC has planned, coordinated and implemented 32 Police-Community Relations Awards programs. Citizens from neighborhoods, schools, places of worship, businesses and civic institutions nominate officers, and CRC members review the nominations.   

Officers are judged on their involvement in helping the community understand the police function and the citizens role, demonstration of extraordinary efforts in the area of crime prevention, and helping neighborhoods handle their special problems. For more information or to nominate an officer, please call 704-336-3056.
