Studies show that neighborhoods and schools are interdependent - the quality of one affects the quality of another. The Neighborhood-School Partnerships category encourages neighborhoods to work with the schools within their communities. The goal of these projects is to build a sense of a larger community and shared vision between the neighborhood and the school. Neighborhoods are encouraged to build connections with school staff, administration and students to become a single voice in making community improvements. Project samples under this category include educational enrichment programs, music programs, back to school events, community-school garden partnerships and teacher appreciation events.
