Just to the North of Uptown Charlotte, North Tryon connects Uptown to the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.  North Tryon has a rich history as one of the main trading routes of the 1750's.  Home to the historic Rosedale neighborhood where one of the few remaining plantation houses is open to the public.  Many great business and infill development opportunities exist in the corridor.

North Tryon Redevelopment Study (Nov. 2008)
In 2007 the City Council authorized a North Tryon Redevelopment Study Report to determine the highest use for revitalization of the corridor. The plan documents, among other things, existing conditions, identifies market opportunities, and evaluates alternative land development scenarios.   The study recommends four catalyst sites for redevelopment along with appropriate uses.

Projects & Plans
- North Tryon Streetscape - Currently in the planning stage, the streetscape project will provide infrastructure improvements to support redevelopment along North Tryon Street by, among other things, providing pedestrian amenities, installing new landscaping, and including opportunities for decorative lighting.
