The City of Charlotte Small Business Opportunity (SBO) Program is designed to assist certified Small Business Enterprises (SBEs) in growing, enhancing, and developing their business. As a benefit of SBE certification, Advance Your Business is a combination of numerous development programs that support small businesses in organizational training, strategic development, and networking opportunities.  They include:

Professional Association Sponorships

The SBO Program provides partial sponsorships for annual membership dues toward local organizations that foster small business growth for the period of one year.  Certified SBEs that do not have an existing membership with the applied for organization are eligible. Partnering associations include:

SBO Partnership with CPCC's - Small Business Center
To assist City of Charlotte certified SBEs develop and grow their business, SBEs can enroll in free courses ($300 maximum) at Central Piedmont Community College – Small Business Center.

Getting to the CORE of Business

The City of Charlotte is pleased to partner with Central Piedmont Community College’s (CPCC) Institute for Entrepreneurship to offer ten scholarships for Getting to the CORE of Business: Strategic Development Program. This innovative five-month program will provide business owners individualized practical training designed to teach you how to integrate, implement and execute a focused growth strategy.
