Keep Charlotte Beautiful and TreesCharlotte Partner to Increase Charlotte’s Tree Canopy

In honor of Keep America Beautiful’s National Planting Day, Keep Charlotte Beautiful has partnered with TreesCharlotte to sponsor a tree planting event in north Charlotte. TreesCharlotte is a collaborative of agencies focused on achieving Charlotte City Council’s  goal of having 50 percent of the city covered by tree canopy by 2050. In doing so, as many as 500,000 trees will need to be planted during the next 38 years.

Keep Charlotte Beautiful’s tree planting event will be held on Oct. 19 in the McIntyre community. Five hundred trees will be planted, including species that are native to the Charlotte area. To volunteer for the tree planting event please sign up here Tree Planting Sign Up Form.
