The Charlotte Mecklenburg Planning Department staff is hosting a community workshop to discuss Internet Sweepstakes / Electronic Gaming Operations. Currently these establishments are not defined or listed in the Zoning Ordinance as a permitted use by right, under prescribed conditions or as an accessory use. At this meeting, staff will provide background information, identify issues and concerns and describe the process forward to determine what modifications are needed to the Charlotte Zoning Ordinance to accommodate these uses.
Your input is crucial to this process. At the workshop, staff will also be recruiting volunteers to serve on a citizen advisory group to provide guidance to staff in developing these regulations.
