The Fighting Back Mission:
To partner with Mecklenburg County communities including but not limited to neighborhoods, schools, agencies, businesses and faith-based groups in the development and implementation of strategies to prevent, reduce or eliminate substance abuse through partnerships, programs, contractors and public awareness.

 

…to be the epicenter for education, direction and support for Mecklenburg County residents impacted by substance abuse.

 

Substance Abuse Prevention and Education Training - Fighting Back provides evidenced-based substance abuse prevention curriculum training and educational materials to neighborhoods, community organizations and agencies, schools, the faith community, etc. Presentations and workshops are also available.

 

Providing Technical Assistance to Neighborhoods - Fighting Back links organizations to potential funding resources and grant-writing services. We also provide training/workshops on program and organizational development.

 

Youth Leadership Development - Fighting Back recognizes the importance of involving young people in community development, teaching them skills that will position them to be tomorrow's leaders. They acquire these skills through active participation in the Fighting Back Youth Council and other youth activities.
