The City of Charlotte has launched the CVS Caremark Prescription Discount program to provide residents with some relief from the high cost of prescription drugs. Made possible through the National League of Cities, Charlotte joins approximately 50 cities currently enrolled and fully participating in the program. This program is estimated by NLC and CVS Caremark to save citizens of Charlotte an average of 20% off the full retail cost of prescription medications. There is no cost to the public to join.

The discount cards may be used by all residents in Charlotte-Mecklenburg and has no age, income or health coverage restrictions. The NLC card can be used when purchasing prescription drugs at more than 100 pharmacies in Mecklenburg County, as well as at more than 59,000 participating retail pharmacies across the country.

Cards are available to the public at no cost at the Charlotte Transportation Center Pass and Information Office at the transportation center while supplies last.

If you have questions about the cards, you may call a toll-free customer care line at 1-888-620-1749 or visit www.caremark.com/nlc for assistance with the program, to locate a pharmacy or request information in Spanish.
