The Beatties Ford Road Area is one of the most transit-supportive neighborhoods in Charlotte, with the 2nd highest ridership in the CATS system. This project will enhance and improve community transit center operations at Beatties Ford Road and Rosa Parks Place. This neighborhood-scaled facility is envisioned for neighborhood residents to board regular and small buses in a weather-protected, safe and secure area. The transit center will be integrated into the community, providing a focal point for neighborhood activities. The community transit center is planned to open in Summer 2006.
Features:
- Convenient, on-street, well-lit, attractive, compact, neighborhood-scaled community transit center that will accommodate 8-10 small and larger coaches
- Connections to uptown Charlotte, a cross-town route, and six neighborhood shuttles
- Bus routes 7 and 30 will stop at the community transit center. Neighborhood routes that stop at the transit center include 201, 202, 203, 231, 234, and 238.
