Crime Story
On the 4th September 1977, Bernard Avery called for a cab with the intention of robbing the driver. When the cab did not show up at the resident, he waved down the next cab that drove by. The victim was the driver of the next cab that drove by the residents where Avery was waiting.

When the cab stopped Avery got into the cab and gave the victim a destination. While the victim was driving down the street, Avery pulled a gun and shot him in the neck. Avery grabbed the steering wheel to the cab and steered the cab off the road. When the victim began groaning, Avery put the gun to the victim's head and pulled the trigger. Avery then robbed the victim of his cab fares and left the area.

A jury found Bernard Avery guilty of first-degree murder. He was sentenced to life in prison.
