The following is a list of benefits that applies to all sworn Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officers.

- 2 weeks leave for annual reserve military training, one week is paid

The backbone of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is its Patrol function. In addition to Patrol, the department has many broad opportunities in specialized assignments for officers to diversify their skills and broaden their Police experience including: Felony Investigations, Vice and Narcotics, School Resource Officer, Lake Enforcement, Helicopter, SWAT, Canine, Recruitment, Training, Bicycle Patrol, Foot Patrol, Youth and Family Services, Missing Persons and many others.
Pay:
- Entry level pay for a High School graduate is $36,502.00
- Associates Degree $38,329.00
- Bachelors Degree $40,245.00
- Top pay for a Senior Police Officer with a Bachelors Degree is $65.554.00, obtained in approximately 9.8 years. (Pending council approval each year)
- Enrollment in the Veteran's Administration Apprenticeship Program, through the North Carolina Department of Labor, IF you are eligible to receive GI Bill Benefits. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has an Incentive Entry Program for full time, sworn, and certified Officers in North Carolina only.
