The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Reserves
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Reserve Unit is a volunteer organization comprised of individuals from within the community that through unselfish dedication supplement the current full time law enforcement needs and efforts within the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County North Carolina.
The mission of the CMPD Reserves is the same as the CMPD.
"Building Partnerships To Prevent The Next Crime"
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department will build problem-solving partnerships with our citizens to prevent the next crime and enhance the quality of life throughout our community, always treating people with fairness and respect.
WE VALUE:
- Partnerships
- Open Communication
- Problem-solving
- People
- Our Employees
- Integrity
- Courtesy
- The Constitution Of North Carolina
- The Constitution Of The United States
The members of the Reserves exemplify this mission, as they have built the best partnership with the community. As members of the community, working regular full time jobs at companies like Microsoft, The Carolina Panthers, the City of Charlotte, they continue to build additional bridges with the communities we serve.
All of the Reserve Police Officers are sworn law enforcement officers. Some of our reserves are retired or have left from their full time law enforcement careers at the CMPD or even the N.C. State Highway Patrol.
The unit consists of Sworn personnel. The support role they provide the CMPD has them delivering over 10,000 hours of volunteer time to supplement of the needs of the CMPD. The Reserves provide service from basic law enforcement support in Road Patrol assignments, to assistance with "Cold Case" investigation in our Felony Investigations Unit.
