The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department calls upon the Reserves to assist with various special projects. Reserves plays a significant role in supporting/complimenting the CMPD full time officers in their daily duties.

Some of the special projects which have involved the Reserves include:

The event is Charlotte and Mecklenburg County's annual kick off to the holiday season. The reserves provide security along the parade route and support to the on-duty officers.

The Annual Police and Fire Department's Christmas Project
The Christmas Project is a partnership between public and private enterprises that collect food, clothing, and gifts for approximately 600+ disadvantaged families in the community. Reserves assist in the gift wrapping, packaging and delivery of the items  prior to Christmas.

The South End Project
This was a pilot program which partnered the reserves with the David Bureau in implementing a Problem Solving solution to the South End area of Charlotte, which is primarily occupied by restaurants, shopping, businesses and entertainment. The reserves provided support to patrol officers and placed emphasis on crime prevention through high visibility initiatives in this area.
