Entering a Crime Scene can be a delicate situation.  The Crime Scene Investigators must be mindful of all evidence that could be contaminated.
Crime Scene Investigators use Tyvek Suits to protect from contaminating Trace Evidence. Crime Scene Investigators collect evidence in water. Using a Diagram Measuring device called the Nikon Aims system to diagram major Crime Scenes. The Photo Forensic Lab is under the umbrella of the Crime Scene Division.  The Forensic Photographer can do 1 to 1 images of an actual print using digital technology.  Files in the Photo Lab are secured in a locked area that only a few have access too.  The images are stored on CDR, CD's that cannot be erased.  The CDR's took the place of the 35mm negative film for documentation and archiving of the original images.
