Bond Projects

2008 Transportation and Neighborhood Improvement Bonds
On November 4, voters will have the opportunity to approve bonds for local capital improvement projects.  If approved, $84.7 million will fund work on five major road construction projects:
 
 


Funding for Bond Projects
The Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT) selects and ranks transportation improvement projects based on traffic studies and future growth patterns. After input from other City Departments and approval from the City Manager's Office, the projects are placed on a referendum for voters to approve.  Some projects are fully funded while others are initially funded for just planning and design.  Click here to view all bond projects, their current status and their funding.

  
 

An additional $70.5 million will fund a variety of transportation improvements, new infrastructure, railroad crossing improvements, new bikeways, pedestrian and streetscape improvements, and enhancements including the widening of rural, below standard farm-to-market roads such as:

$47 million will fund improvements such as curb & gutter, sidewalks, streetscape and storm drainage in neighborhoods showing signs of distress such as:
