Grove Park

A Neighborhood Improvement Project

In November 2006, voters approved $25,000,000 for neighborhood improvement projects including $3,000,000 for the planning and design of infrastructure projects in the Grove Park neighborhood. Proposed improvements may include:

  • storm drainage
  • street resurfacing
  • water and sewer line replacement

The construction of this project will not begin until 2012.

At the second public meeting, we received comments regarding the implementation of rain gardens in the Neighborhood Improvement Project. A rain garden is a planted depression that is designed to absorb rainwater runoff from impervious urban areas like roofs, driveways, walkways, and compacted lawn areas. This reduces rain runoff by allowing storm water to soak into the ground.
