Lincoln/Wilson Heights

A Neighborhood Improvement Project

In November 2006, voters approved $25,000,000 for neighborhood improvement projects including $5,000,000 for Lincoln/Wilson Heights.  This project is bounded by Russell Avenue, I-77, Beatties Ford Road and Friendship Place.

  • The neighborhood will receive improvements, but not limited to curb and gutter, sidewalks with ADA  wheel chair ramps, planting strips and storm water drainage.
  • Charlotte Mecklenburg Utilities has a water and sewer replacement project in construction. Contact: Fred Hunter, CMU Project Manager at 704-391-5124.

Lincoln/Wilson Heights
This project will build new sidewalk, curb and gutter, planting strips and storm drainage improvements in the Lincoln Heights and Wilson Heights neighborhoods. 

What's happened?
City Council awarded the planning contract to Gannet Fleming on May 14, 2007. The first public meeting was held on June 26, 2007. The October newsletter describes the first public meeting results. The second public meeting was held on November 8, 2007.  An update was mailed to residents in April 2008.

The project is in the design phase.

Please note this figure includes all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.
