Part of the Transportation Program
The City Boulevard Extension project will include modifications to intersections with a focus on providing a variety of travel choices; improving travel conditions for vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclist and transit users. The physical limits of the project area extend from the existing intersection of City Boulevard and Neal Road to the west where the proposed street extension would connect with the proposed realignment of Mallard Creek Road near Rumple Road.
Objectives:
- Improve travel conditions for vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclist and transit users within the Charlotte, NC metropolitan area
- Create more travel choices

City Boulevard Extension
This project will identify improvements along City Boulevard, extending from the existing intersection of City Boulevard and Neal Road to the proposed realignment of Mallard Creek Road near Rumple Road, to enhance conditions for vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit users.
What's happened? The first public meeting was held on June 26, 2008. Click here to view the comments from the public. What's next? The planning phase continues. A final conceptual design will be selected this winter. Following future funding, the design phase can begin.

Cost: $4,000,000 Please note this is the funding amount and includes all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping. Additional funding may be identified after the planning phase.
