Business Corridor Revitalization

Revitalizing Charlotte's Business Corridors is a priority for the Economic Development Office as well as the City.

The Economic Development Office hosted its inaugural Business Corridor Symposium on June 12. We brought together the best and brightest in the redevelopment business to discuss best practices in other cities as well as non-traditional market studies and how to access capital.  You can download the keynote presentations below.  If you would like more information, please contact Jamie Banks at 704-432-5111 or jbanks@ci.charlotte.nc.us

Transit Oriented Development (TOD)
The purpose of TOD is to create compact, walkable communities centered around high quality transportation systems. Includes a  mixture of uses in close proximity including office, residential, retail, and civic uses. The Lynx blue line along South Blvd, has generated more than $1.8B of private development.  The City has also taken an active role in the development of the Scaleybark station area.
