Workforce Development
Finding quality, qualified workers is a goal for all businesses in Charlotte.  The Economic Development Office has oversight over the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Workforce Development Board (WDB) which operates local workforce development programs as well as works on workforce issues as identified by the community. 

Career Transition Services
ProNet is designed to help Charlotte area professionals transition into a new job or career. ProNet pulls together information about local resources available to you from unemployment insurance to training and education opportunities to tools to explore changing into a new career altogether.

Youth Employment
In addition the Economic Development Office participates in two youth employment programs:
-  The Mayor's Youth Employment Program  matches businesses and youth who are looking for career-based summer employment (click here to apply; login in as a guest)
- The Youth Job Connection, a partnership between the City, Goodwill and the Workforce Development Board to provide training and part-time jobs for kid
