Adult Day Health/Day Care Nurse Consultant Service assists in protecting the health of disabled and older adults enrolled in Adult Day Health/Day Care programs in Mecklenburg County by providing information and assistance to individuals and organizations regarding health related activities.  Working in conjunction with the Department of Social Services, it provides initial and re-certification health standards review as defined in the North Carolina Adult Day Health/Day Care General Statutes. 

The health care component of adult day health services distinguishes it from adult day care, which also provides a structured program of activities and services during the day for aging, disabled and handicapped adults.  Participants enrolled in adult day health also require daily nursing supervision.
