H1N1 Vaccine
Updated: November 11, 2009

Get your H1N1 flu vaccineAll H1N1 vaccination appointments are currently filled and are not scheduling additional clinics at this time.

We are dedicating our remaining vaccine to the start up of school-located clinics, beginning November 16th. Initially, we plan to visit at least 6 schools each day and vaccinated any child who has provided the appropriate permission slips.

When we receive sufficient supply to operate additional clinics it will be announced on this website and in the media. Please check back frequently or you may sign up to receive e-mail updates.

You can also check with your personal medical provider to see if they are administering the vaccine. Many pharmacies and grocery store pharmacies are expected to receive limited quantities of the H1N1 vaccine for public distribution.

Ways to get vaccine

As larger amounts of vaccine become available, it will be available through multiple channels in the community, so that it will be as easy as possible for people throughout the community to get protection. More information will be forthcoming as vaccine becomes available for public distribution, including on Public Health's website at www.meckhealth.org/H1N1. Opportunities for receiving vaccine will include:

  • Regular health care providers – such as pediatricians, family practice doctors and obstetricians.
  • Pharmacies and other commercial vendors – like seasonal flu, most major pharmacy chains will offer H1N1 vaccine to the public.
  • Community vaccination clinics – Public Health will offer public vaccination clinics at community sites, such as community centers, Public Health Centers and at schools.
  • Employers of health care and emergency medical services personnel will provide vaccine to their employees who provide patient care.
