Commercial code enforcement is accomplished through the combined efforts of the plan review and field inspection staff. Each plays an important role in assuring that structures are built in compliance with the State and local laws. It is very important that the enforcement is administered in a fair, thorough, and consistent manner by all. The purpose of the Consistency Policy is to improve the Department's ability to accomplish the above and "SPEAK WITH ONE VOICE."

Departmental Consistency Policy

TRADES CONSISTENCY MEETING SCHEDULE
Building:   The 1st Wednesday of every Month from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.
Building (Commercial): The 2nd Monday of every Month from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m.
Electrical:  The 1st Wednesday of every Month from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Mechanical:   The last Tuesday of every Month from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.
Plumbing:   The last Wednesday of every Month from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.

All customers are encouraged to participate in the monthly trade consistency meeting. Please check above for time and day. Meetings are at 700 N. Tryon Street.  Call the respective Trade Chief or Kathleen Batey (704-336-3545) to confirm location.
