Visitation Policy
Inmates in Mecklenburg County Jails are allowed one thirty-minute visit per week.
Two adults or one adult and two children may visit at any one time.
Adults must be 16 years of age or older and must provide proper identification such as: valid driver's license, passport, DMV Special ID, or Military ID.
All inmates must be incarcerated for 48 hours before receiving their first visit
How to determine an inmate's visitation day:
Click on inmate inquiry and type in the person's name. Under the mug shot, you will see the word Housing with a letter and a number. The first letter is the facility location (C = Central, N= North, W= Work Release). The number is the POD the person is housed in. The first two numbers designates their visitation day. However, because inmates transfer between PODs, it is best to ask the inmate what their visitation day is, if possible. See the Visitation Schedule for details.
