Adult and Youth Programs at Ray's Splash Planet

Ray's Splash Planet offers a variety of programs that accommodate all age groups, interests and athletics.  Some athletic programs feature sports such as basketball, baseball, soccer and flag football. Other programs include a variety of aerobics instruction, fitness instruction/personal training, no school day camps, preschool activities, swim lessons, dancing, yoga and self-defense instruction.

Ray's After School Program
Ray's Splash Planet will be offering Ray's After School Program for the 2008/2009 school year.  Ray's After School Program is designed for all children enrolled in the first through fifth grades or 5-10 years old. (However, this program is not strictly limited to CMS students.  It is open to everyone.) This program is designed to help working parents find a safe, organized, and reasonably priced child care with opportunities for fitness and social interactions. Activities include: peer tutoring, mentoring, arts 'n' crafts, sports, games, field trips and lots of SWIMMING!!!! 

Registration for this program is ongoing. Ray's Splash Planet has been designated by Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as an alternate drop-off site for some CMS schools.  You may request an alternate drop-off site here: https://www.wherebus.com/public/cms/transportationservicerequest.aspx

Homeschool Thursday's @ Ray's Splash Planet

Join Ray's Splash Planet for Homeschool Thursday's! Come and swim anytime between 9am-4pm every Thursday if your children are homeschooled; September 2008 through May 2009. (Except for Mecklenburg County No School days.)

Discount coupons cannot be applied to fees on Homeschool Thursday's.

Winter Rescue Youth Camp (6-12 years)
This week long camp is designed for kids ages 6-12 years old. This camp incorporates a field trip, sports, games, arts & crafts and swimming in the indoor Splash Park! Enjoy Winter Break at Ray's Splash Planet!

Pre-Registration is required for all No School Day camps at Ray's Splash Planet at least 3 days in advance of class date.  To register, patrons may dial 311 or go online http://www.parkandrec.com and click on Eparks and finally type in the related barcode number.  Patrons may also come to the facility and register as long as it's done 3 days in advance of the camp date. Patrons should contact Ramona Staton for questions or concerns regarding registration deadlines. Swim Lessons @ Ray's Splash Planet
American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim
Only the American Red Cross offers six comprehensive levels of swimming that teach participants how to swim skillfully and safely.  Learn-to-Swim offers something for everybody.  Plus our instructors are trained and certified by the American Red Cross, so swimmers of all ages and abilities are in good hands. 

In addition to the skills outlined below, each level of Learn-to-Swim includes training in basic water safety and helping others in an emergency.

Sandollar/Starfish (Pre-Beginner)   
Preschool (3-5 years)
We offer Pre-beginner level swim lessons.  No water experience required.  Basic orientation to aquatic environment and learning elementary skills such as front and back float, glide and submersion.  Students learn flutter kick on front and back, begin using arms and are introduced to swimming independently.
