The Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department now offers local residents the opportunity to rent their own garden space. Get your garden gloves and shovels ready and get outdoors to enjoy the harvest. Garden areas have been developed throughout the county at designated park sites that can be rented for $3/month or $26.00/year for a 10 foot x 10 foot space. Soil conditions have been improved and some locations have a water supply available. If you don't have space in your own yard, plant your flowers and vegetables at one of your local community garden spots.

Locations  with Community Gardens:

• Little Sugar Creek Greenway: Located on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway in the Belmont Community at the dead end of Alexander Street at 17th Street. Garden plots 10' x 15' are available for rent. Water is available on site. For information call (704) 353-1237.
