Toby Creek Greenway
Length: Approximately 2 miles, including the connector to University Place

Location: On the UNC Charlotte campus from Mallard Creek Greenway at Hwy 29 to the intersection of University City Blvd (Hwy 49) and WT Harris Blvd.  A connector is also planned from Toby Creek Greenway to Hwy 29 at JW Clay Blvd.

Description: The greenway is shovel ready and has been programmed as a project to receive $1.25 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), federal stimulus money administered by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT).  The schedule depends on the review and execution of agreements, but it is anticipated the construction may begin Fall 2009.  A kick-off celebration was held in November 2009. This trail will link the existing Mallard Creek Greenway to the UNC Charlotte campus and shopping areas, providing a real and symbolic connection between UNC Charlotte and the University City community.  The trail will be asphalt.
