Discover 1,300-acre Latta Plantation Nature Preserve--on a Segway!

These two-wheeled personal transporters are a fun way to get out and see the wildlife, natural areas, and trails of Latta Plantation Nature Preserve at 5226 Sample Road in Huntersville.  Highlights include Shady Trail, Buzzard Rock Trail, Laura's Trail and gorgeous views of Mt. Island Lake.

Segway tours are for adults (age 18+) and cost $35 per person. All equipment and training provided. Trail refreshments included. Tours last about 3 hours including a 30-45 minute training session. For more information or to register call 704.875.1391.

Weekend Segway Adventures:

• November - February: 1st and 3rd weekends 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
• March - October 2009:1st and 3rd weekends 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 3 p.m.-6 p.m.

Sunset Segway Tours:

• April-June: Wednesdays 5 p.m.- 8 p.m.
• July-August: 2nd & 4th Thursdays 5 p.m.- 8 p.m.

Eligibility Requirements

Participants must be at least 18 years of age, weighing at least 100 lbs and not exceeding 260 lbs. You must be in good physical condition, able to stand for extended periods of time; you must be capable of walking up a flight of stairs unassisted and without a handrail, not suffering from any physical ailment or condition which would in any way inhibit your ability to ride a Segway; be aware that this Segway tour is not recommended for women who are pregnant.  Please wear closed-toed shoes (i.e. NO sandals, Flip Flops or Crocs).  Please come prepared to sign a Liability Waiver and Release. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of your tour.
