Give your child a unique birthday party that is both fun AND educational! Join our nature center staff in throwing a party that is sure to be a blast.

Who: Your 4-12 year-old child and up to 15 friends.

What: A unique twist on birthday parties! You'll get an exciting nature program that includes hands-on learning and exploration as well as a project children can take home. See program topics below.

Where:  Latta Plantation, McDowell or Reedy Creek Nature Centers

Cost: $150 – Fee includes a one hour program and the use of a facility for 2 additional hours before or after the program.

Insect Mania
They are creepy, they are crawly, and they are all around us! We will explore what makes an insect special and even make a super duper bug scooper!

Fantastic Fish
Is it fast? Is it slow? Maybe it even glows! We will discover the ins and outs of fish by comparing their body and fin shapes. Children will fashion their own "fish" to take home.

Wild Woodlands
Come explore a forest habitat! Participants will search the nature preserve for creatures to find out where they live and what they eat. Each child will get to take home a plaster cast of a woodland animal track.

Scale Tales
Separate truth from fiction during this hands-on look at one amazing group of animals! Discover some of the many species of reptiles native to our region. Each child will design a special reptile magnet.
