Natural Disasters: Fires

Fire Emergencies

As Charlotte has grown, so has the seriousness and sophistication of its fires.
However the Charlotte Fire Department, and the local volunteer fire departments' roles are to respond to your calls for emergency as well as prepare educational information so that the call will not be needed.

Modern urban fires can be dangerous because of close proximity to other structures.
As the density of Charlotte's urban area increase, the threat of fire spreading from one building to another has increased.  So too has the complexity of fighting fire in an era of  petro-chemicals and hazardous materials.
