2008 Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventory for Mecklenburg County

The North Carolina Clean Smokestacks Act, passed in June 2002, required North Carolina Division of Air Quality (NCDAQ) to study issues related to the development and implementation of standards and plans to implement programs to control emissions of carbon dioxide (CO 2) from coal-fired generating units and other stationary sources of air pollution.  In support of this study, NCDAQ and Mecklenburg County Air Quality (MCAQ) is conducting a calendar year 2008 greenhouse gas emission inventory for Title V permitted facilities.

MCAQ will mail our permitted Title V sources a greenhouse gas inventory packet on Friday, October 31, 2008.

Title V facilities should return the "General Information" and "GHG Emission Information" forms along with all relevant supporting documentation and calculations to MCAQ no later than June 30, 2009.  MCAQ encourages you to consolidate this report with the 2008 air toxics emission inventory and 2008 annual emission report to be submitted by April 30, 2009.

The following information and spreadsheets are necessary to complete your inventory.  Click on the links below to access the information and required forms.

Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please call your Air Quality contact at 704-336-5430.
