Bill James is a Republican serving his eighth term on the Board. James serves on the Board’s Audit Review Committee, which he helped to found a decade ago. Prior to election to office, he served as the first chairman of the City of Charlotte’s Privatization Advisory Committee (1994 to 1996) and was a member of the County’s Citizens Capital Budget Advisory Committee (CCBAC) in 1995.

Commissioner James, a CPA for more than 30 years, earned his MBA in accounting from Nova Southeastern University (1980); bachelor of science in accounting from Florida Atlantic University (1978); and an associate of arts degree from Broward Community College (1976). He is married and has four children.
