Children's Services within Mecklenburg County's Community Support Services Women's Commission strives to provide counseling, support and education to children and youth affected by domestic violence in the hopes of ending the cycle of abuse.

Services include:

The Help Encourage Recognition of Observers of domestic violence program is designed for children ages 5 to 18 who are exposed to domestic violence in their homes.

Teen Dating Violence (TDV)

The Teen Dating Violence program assists teenagers who are currently experiencing or have experienced in the past abuse within their own dating relationship.

This educational program is for adolescent witnesses of domestic violence who demonstrate at-risk behaviors. The primary goal of reach is to deter future abusive behavior. This weekly group approach is designed for 13 to 17 year olds and is facilitated by both male and female group leaders and staff.
