NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Mecklenburg County intends to enter into an agreement with the Town of Huntersville, American Asset Corporation (or with one or more of its related entities), and Rhein Medall Communities (or one of its related entities) to finance the relocation of a section of an existing Norfolk Southern railroad track, widen a section of Highway 115 and make improvements to or extensions of public roadways to encourage development of the Bryton Project. Total debt financing for the Project is currently estimated to be $33,705,000 and will be financed using Certificates of Participation issued pursuant to G.S. 160A-20.
Pursuant to G.S. § 158-7.1 the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on May 1, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. as the continuation of a public hearing that started on April 17, 2007. The meeting will be held in the Meeting Chamber located within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center (600 East Fourth Street, Charlotte N.C. 28202). The purpose of the meeting is to receive comments in connection with the debt financing plan to construct street improvements and to relocate the railroad tracks.
