Community Alternatives Program

Services in the Home and Community

Community Alternatives Program

The Community Alternatives Program Includes:

  • CAP/DA: Provides for disabled adults, teens and children who are eligible for Medicaid and in need of nursing home level care (intermediate and/or skilled level care).
  • CAP/C (Children): Provides help to children under age 19 who are medically fragile and at-risk of being institutionalized.

The Refugee program assists persons with refugee status who are relocating to Mecklenburg County while the Tuberculosis program screens persons for TB and provides other related services.
