Some of the food I didn’t eat, but after trying it in a different way, it was good.
I enjoyed class basically because they were empowering and delicious!
I have incorporated the recipes into the menus, taken information I have to make healthier choices and adjust menu items.
I have already begun to implement class knowledge in menu changes & by preparing supplied recipes. I also have spoken with many parents regarding nutrition and its importance to our children.
I will use what I’ve learned from this program to start healthy eating in my home and at work.
I will be adding some of the recipes to the menu and taking some of the current recipes & “tweaking” them to be healthier.
I’m preparing meals from program and making up my own new recipes and by introducing children to more whole grain foods.
I have been telling & sharing recipes with other teachers and cooks.
Learning how to make right food choices when choosing items to slay my hunger. I know now possibly how to save my life and all whom I cook for.
You don’t have to have meat for a healthy meal.
I’m now using less or no margarine. I’m using whole wheat breads, more fresh fruits and vegetables and I’m not over feeding the kids and offering them foods such as fruits and less fattening foods when they still want more foods.
Learned a lot of little “tricks” to make foods healthier for the children.
Inspired me to try to make our menu healthier and hopefully fun for the kids.
