Effective October 15, 2005 selected applicants for positions as Detention Officers, Deputy Sheriffs and/or Security Officers, or positions within the Work Release and Restitution Center (WRRC) requiring detention officer certification for employment must meet the required Pre Employment FitForce Standard before being hired, and thereafter must comply with all FitForce Standards twice per year.
Once an applicant has been screened and approved for possible interview (WRRC) or approved to receive a detention officer application package, the selected candidates will be provided a Medical Release Form that must be completed by their personal physician certifying that the applicant should be able to participate in the test without foreseeable medical danger to him or herself. Upon receipt of this release the applicant(s) will be scheduled for a test date.
The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office Pre Employment Physical Fitness Test is graded on a pass/fail basis. Applicants must meet the minimum standard to proceed in the hiring process.
