The program tabulated scores based on license number and number of events performed in the County’s Electronic Plan Management (EPM) system. It’s helped improve efficiency and accuracy across the board for the County and customers alike.
Since the start of the program, more than 1,700 licensed professionals have been identified as users in the system and have begun receiving scores. To make sure all license numbers are correct and the database remains true, on July 1, 2012,
Code Enforcement will begin a validation process when applications for plan review are submitted through the EPM system.
As of June 1, 2012, non-licensed individuals doing business in Mecklenburg County can obtain a “Meck-ID” to submit projects. Although, currently, there are only plans to collect performance scores for licensed seal holders, the Meck-ID designation will help to identify and track all people submitting construction projects in Mecklenburg County.
This validation will check license numbers entered into the application against the databases maintained by the North Carolina Board of Architecture, the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors, and the North Carolina Board of Landscape Architects. The system will bring back the correct name for the license number entered. If the license number is entered incorrectly, the submitter will be able to correct the information provided on the application, ensuring the correct design professional is listed as the designer of record for the project.
