E-PLANT TIPS FOR JUNE FROM THE NC COOPERATIVE EXTENSION PROGRAM
- Lacebugs are likely to attack azaleas this time of year, particularly if azaleas are receiving a lot of sun. Treat with acephate in June if you see blanched or stippled appearance on the upper surface of the leaves. You will also see black “tar” spots on the underside of leaves.
- Water plants of all types in the early morning hours. Avoid evening watering since it can increase the likelihood of fungal diseases.
- Lowering mowing height on fescue lawn grass to 3 inches can help minimize brown patch disease.
