4-H MotorSports Day Camp
Participants in the one-week day camp will experience the life of a pit crew as they design, update and race radio-controlled cars. Using specific math, engineering and technology skills, the campers will solve real-life racing problems. We will also visit local race shops and the Nascar Hall of Fame. Ages 9-12 year olds. Youth Atletics: Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation offers a wide variety of athletic programs to youth participants throughout the year. TAPP: Toddler and Parent Playtime (You Must Pre Register)
Come join other toddlers and parents for some arts and crafts, exercise, and story time! Please dress in weather appropriate clothes and clothes that you don’t mind getting a little paint on! TAPP meets every Tuesday from 10:00am-10:45am. The cost is $2 per class and is for ages 3-5 years old. HomeSchool Physical Education
Participants will engage in physical activities for an hour. The cost is $2 per session and the class is for ages 7-10 years old. Homeschool PE will be on Tuesday’s from 11:30am-1:00pm. Community School of the Arts:
Community School of the Arts invites you to explore the lessons, classes, camps and workshops that inspire more than 2,000 students every year. Traditional music instruction is offered for piano, viola, violin, cello, harp, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, drum, voice and guitar. Art Exploration is an exciting art sampler class for kids ages 3 to 6. This six week session offers three different art mediums for children to explore. Fundamentals of Drawing teaches students ages 7 to 10 to explore various drawing techniques and media To register for programs call 704-377-4187 or go online to www.csarts.org.
Jazzercise is a workout program, which offers a fusion of jazz dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, and kickboxing movements. Benefits include increased cardiovascular endurance, strength, and flexibility, as well as an overall "feel good" factor. Every 60-minute class includes a gentle warm up, 30-minute aerobic workout, muscle toning and strengthening segment with weights, and a stretch finale. Active Adults Club Programs:
The Active Adults Club at Elon Recreation Center is a multicultural and diverse group of individuals age 55+ who love to take on just about anything and everything. Current programs include yoga classes, bridge lessons and play, poker lessons and play, disc golf, social events and much more. Do you want to learn something about the one of the world's oldest sports? Look no further than the Kuchavik School of Fencing. For more information contact Adam Kuchavik at 704-654-6739. Class meets each Monday 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. (5 p.m. - 6 p.m. for ages 7-8; 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. for ages 9 and older).
Pre Ballet Classes:
Classical Ballet Instructor Amanda Sheppard has been teaching for over 25 years. Originally from London, England, she holds a teaching diploma from the Royal Academy of Dance and is currently the Director at the Matthews Community Center. MADE Today, INC Present's Cheerleading, Dance & Gymnastics:
MADE Today, Inc is owned and operated by two current NFL Professional Cheerleaders for the Carolina Panthers and participants perform at sporting events, parades, festivals and more! Classes run during the school year. Classes are held Thursdays 6:00pm-7:15pm for recreational cheer/dance/gymnastics; 6:30pm-8:15pm for competition cheer/dance/gymnastics. Competition team also meets on some Tuesdays 6:30pm-8:15pm.
