Jacobsen And E-2 Go Donate Golf Equipment To First Tee Of Charlotte
12/10/2009

Charlotte, NC— Two companies in the Textron Corporation, Jacobsen and E-Z-Go, have made important equipment donations to The First Tee of Charlotte Leaning Academy at Revolution Park Golf Course. The companies donated equipment worth more than $56,000 including a range ball picker cart, an all electric tee box mower, a greens mower, and a fairway mower.

The tee box mower is a new generation of electric maintenance equipment and supports the County’s Go Green Initiative. It is the first mower of its type at a golf course owned by the County. The equipment will be used to maintain facilities at the learning academy and the golf course. All the property is owned by Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department, which partners with The First Tee of Charlotte to provide the learning academy to teach golf to youth. Revolution Golf course is managed under contract by Ratcliffe Golf Services which is also a partner.

Jacobsen, headquartered in Charlotte, manufactures a full range of turf maintenance and utility equipment for golf courses, sports fields and municipal grounds. E-Z-GO, headquartered in Augusta, GA, is a leading manufacturer of golf cars and utility vehicles. The companies donated the equipment to help The First Tee provide participants a premium facility to showcase the environmentally-pleasing game of golf while instilling in youth the organization’s core values of honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgment.

Ratcliffe Golf Services manages four golf courses for Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation, and is an industry leader in developing new avenues for people to learn and play golf. For more information check www.charlottepublicgolf.com.
