Charlotte, NC—Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department invites active seniors, empty nesters and baby boomers to an exciting day-long motor coach tour of the Yadkin River Valley on Tuesday, August 4, 2009. The tour will depart at 7:30am from William R. Davie Park, 4635 Pineville Matthews Road and return about 6:15pm.
Enjoy a day in the beautiful Yadkin Valley stretching from the Blue Ridge to the Piedmont. The valley covers more than 1.4 million acres across North Carolina’s foothills. See enchanting scenery where the mountains meet the tobacco fields. The valley has world class vineyards and wineries. Trip includes a guided tour of Shelton Vineyards, complete with wine tasting! Have a delightful lunch at the vineyard’s Harvest Grill and take home a free souvenir! Transportation is by luxury motor coach with onboard restroom. Walking is required at stops, so wear comfortable shoes.
