Charlotte, NC – Fall is here! There is no better time to update yards and gardens with plants from the Mecklenburg County 4-H Plant Sale. The 4-H program is taking orders for various berry plants through October 30. All proceeds support Mecklenburg youth and teens attending summer camps and leadership programs.
Offered for sale this year are:
- Blueberries: Tifblue, Premier, and Brightwell
- Blackberries: Ouachita and Triple Crown
- Muscadines: Cowart and Triumph
- Raspberries: – Nova and Heritage
These plants ate $8 each ($7 if ten or more). All plants are sold in one-gallon containers and are three years old. Note: Blueberry bushes must be planted with other varieties to produce fruit. Blackberry plants are thornless, erect-erect growing varieties and do not need a trellis. Muscadine vines and raspberry plants are self-fertile varieties and need a trellis.
