Charlotte, NC-- Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department presents several fun programs this fall at 521 Recreation Center, 11401 Ardrey Kell Road in southern Charlotte.

Courses that require registration have Course Code numbers. Go to, click on Eparks, and use the Course Code to register. Or call 311. Among program offerings for various age groups are:

Tiny Tot Tea Time: Prince and Princess Costume Party: October 29, 10am-12pm, Ages 1-6. Cost: $15 per child. Participants develop social skills, enjoy arts and crafts, fun games, gym play, and a healthy brunch. Limited spaces available. Register by October 26. Course Code #1781.

5th Annual Haunted Festival, Friday, October 30, 2009, 6pm-10pm. Haunted Maze and Ride. Combined Cost: $8 or either for $5. Fun for the whole family in the New Haunted Maze. Back by popular demand: The Monsters Lounge. Take a ride on the Bungee Trampoline or knock down opponents with the Wrecking Ball. Free Carnival Games and Candy! No registration needed.

Leisure and Learn Fall Series at 521: Tuesdays, November 3-24,10am-2 pm. For active retirees, empty nesters and boomers. Enjoy a variety of seminars, dynamic keynote speakers, coffee, lunch, and more. Cost: $18 per person. Course Code #5477.
