Charlotte, NC- The Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department and Special Olympics North Carolina will present the second annual Young Athletes Field Day on Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Families with children with disabilities, ages 2-7, are invited to participate in this free event held at the Queens University Sports Complex at Marion Diehl Park, 2229 Tyvola Road, Charlotte.

The Field Day will consist of different skill and play stations focusing on throwing, catching, kicking, jumping, balance, relays and more. Other activities include inflatables, bubbles, music, dancing, and a visit from Carolina Clowns.
