Voting runs through April 17 with the winner announced on April 20.

Vendors must register by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 8.

The event serves as a fundraiser with all proceeds going toward a scholarship fund to pay for nature programs and field trips for underprivileged youth in the Charlotte area.

The Pitch, Hit & Run competition is designed to provide youngsters an opportunity to compete in an exciting competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.

The event is Saturday, March 19, 2011, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., and is free to attend.

Roberts will be the keynote speaker during the March 17 session of Leisure and Learn. The event is from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the William R. Davie Park Conference Center. Admission is $5 and is open to active adults ages 55-up.

As a precaution, the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department will contact groups and organizations that have booked the facility to assist them with finding other event sites.

Registration runs through March 31 and cost $15 per person.
